***If no such ID is available and cannot be reasonably obtained, the signer may have TWO CREDIBLE WITNESSES WITH VALID IDENTIFICATION PRESENT who know you and can attest to who you are UNDER OATH.***

When you have a document requiring a Notary Public services:

DO NOT pre-sign the document. The document must be signed in person, in the presence of the Notary Public

DO Provide a state/government issued photo ID NOT EXPIRED must be current


•There should not be any blank lines or spaces within the document.


•A Maine marriage license must be obtained from the municipality of residence of at least one of you as of the day of the ceremony.


•A Maine marriage license is valid for 90 days from date of issue NOT 3 months.
